This is Our Age Peace Festival FAQs
What will happen on the day and what can I attend?
Participants of all ages will be able to visit the Seeds of Hope and Action exhibition and the Peace Fayre (where there will be youth workshops and children’s activities related to the SDGs throughout the day) from 10am-4pm. These activities are not ticketed.
The Hiroshima Peace Day event has been designed for 15-25 year olds and this is the target audience we hope to engage. At the same time, all ages are welcome. This event is ticketed (ticket link here). Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Due to the theme of nuclear disarmament, this event may not be suitable for younger children and parental discretion is advised.
The theme, nuclear disarmament, will be addressed from a humanistic perspective that affirms respect for the dignity of all life. Please be aware that some of the discussion will touch upon the impacts of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 and on the wider impacts of nuclear warfare. The event is designed to be hope-filled and inspirational, though some audience members may find the topic distressing.
Timings for the day
The festival is open from 10am until 4pm.
If you are attending Hiroshima Peace Day you should arrive from 1pm as it will take some time to seat everyone in the event.
Please view the Seeds of Hope and Action exhibition either before 1pm or after 3pm.
It will take around 1.5h to view the exhibition and experience the Peace Fayre, so it is advisable to arrive before Hiroshima Peace Day to be able to view everything at the event.
Will the activities be free?
All Festival-related events will be free to all attendees.
